For many years now, the Church of St. Paul the Apostle has remembered those in need at Christmas through the Giving Tree.  This year, the gifts will go to foster care children and teens at Abbott House, Catholic Guardian Services, and seniors at Encore Seniors.

Giving is easy! Just click the wish lists for each charity below to send a gift directly to them, or drop off your items at the Parish Center by Sunday, December 17th.

We thought you might like to know a little more about each of the places we give the gifts too…….thanks for caring enough to share the special warmth of the Christmas season with the many hopeful foster care kids and seniors. Merry Christmas!

ABBOTT HOUSE

For decades, Abbott House has provided children to young adults, ages 7 to 23, with a second chance at youth—a place of hope and recovery for those who have suffered trauma and abuse.  Abbott House and Bridges by Abbott House are programs where young people get another chance to turn the abuse and victimization of their past into experiences they live with, but that do not overwhelm their lives. Abbott House strives to provide premier services for youth and their families. Learn more by going to www.abbotthouse.org

CATHOLIC GUARDIAN SERVICES

Sponsored by the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, this program helps a large needy part of the population in the NY metropolitan area.  CSG cares for over 1,000 children ranging in age from Infancy to age 21, with in their mission they try to protect and nurture disadvantaged children and individuals with disabilities, to increase their prospects for self-sufficiency, to strengthen the family structures integral to their support.  Find out more about their program and services at www.catholicguardian.org/child-welfare-family-support-services

ENCORE SENIORS

Encore’s mission is to provide care and service to the senior population of the Clinton/Times Square Communities, and to any senior who comes to them for assistance.  To assist those who are vulnerable, frail, poor, homeless, desperate, and ignored.  To help meet their daily needs so that they may live as independently as possible with dignity and decency in a safe and caring environment.
