A New Year, A New Way to Make the World a Better Place for Someone in Need…

Reaching Out to the Homebound

As members of a community we need contact with each other. We worship together every Sunday, but there are those who cannot celebrate mass with us because of illness or immobility. If you know of anyone who is sick or homebound please call the Parish Center and let us know.  Please leave a message for Deacon Wally Sandoval (212-265-3495 ext. 337).  If someone you see at mass every week hasn't been here, tell one of the priests or a member of the parish staff. It's important that we keep in touch with parishioners who are cut off from us. You can help by keeping us informed. Thanks for your care and concern. God Bless. - Fr Gil

Soup’s On!

Loaves and Fishes is serving lunch every Tuesday.  We are looking for people to help serve. We need four volunteers a week for a two hour lunch, work from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m..  Bring a group of co-workers, or friends, or we will match you with a group. It’s a wonderful ministry of hospitality. Please sign up in the Welcome Center or contact us at welcomecenter@stpaultheapostle.org  Get to meet someone new.

Donate a pot of soup for $30 to feed 20 people!  If you can’t share your talents by serving at the soup kitchen, maybe you could share your abundance by donating enough to make a pot of soup. The number of our guests coming for lunch is growing each week by about 15%. We are now serving about 60 people a week.  Our guests are truly appreciative for this lunch. We serve good food with hospitality and dignity.  Just think, if you and a friend gave up going out for lunch once a week, you could feed 20 people.  You can drop off your donation in the Welcome Center or mark your check with pot of soup in the memo and send it to Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Loaves and Fish Soup kitchen, 405 West 59th Street, New York, New York, 10019.
